Study Interpretation for film and theater in ECPV

What to Study to Become a Film and Theater Actor?

Acting is not just reciting a script. It’s about understanding it, making it your own, and delivering it with truth. It’s about inhabiting characters, moving others through authenticity, and connecting with the audience in every gesture, every look. If you feel the need to tell stories from within, training as an actor is the way to turn that vocation into a solid profession.

At ECPV – Basque Country Film School, we offer you comprehensive training in acting for film and theater. Our approach combines technical rigor with deep emotional work, integrating the demands of the film set with the discipline and intensity of the theatrical stage.

“Acting is living truthfully under imaginary circumstances.” — Sanford Meisner

Why Train in Acting?

Being a performer requires sensitivity, technique, emotional preparation, and adaptability. Throughout your career, you will face very different challenges: comedic and dramatic roles, physical or intimate scenes, audiovisual projects or theatrical productions. Training at ECPV prepares you for all of this with a practical, modern, and deeply human approach.

During the three years of the diploma program, you will study established acting techniques, with active instructors who are constantly in touch with the industry. You will train as an artist, but also as a professional capable of meeting the real demands of film shoots and stage productions.

What Will You Learn at ECPV?

  • Actor training based on techniques such as Meisner, Stanislavski, or Chekhov.
  • Acting in front of the camera and adapting to the audiovisual language.
  • Voice technique, diction, body expression, and stage movement.
  • Improvisation, text analysis, and character development.
  • Emotional training and managing stage fright.
  • Practical work on film scenes, short films, and theater pieces.
  • Real shoots with students from directing, camera, and sound departments.

A Comprehensive, Practical, and Emotional Training

At ECPV we believe that acting training is built through practice and commitment. From the first year, you will be on stage and in front of the camera, exploring characters, building stories, testing your limits, and developing your stage truth.

You will collaborate with other departments to understand cinema as a collective art. You will shoot pieces directed by directing students, participate in short films, and showcase your progress each year in public performances or for a professional jury.

What Career Opportunities Does This Training Offer?

Upon completing the diploma, you will have a professional reel, filmed scenes, visual material, and real stage experience. You will be ready to face castings, independent projects, and theatrical or audiovisual productions.

  • Actor or actress for film, television, and theater.
  • Performer in advertising, music videos, and web series.
  • Stage creator or performer in personal projects.

Above all, you will have found your instrument and your voice: that unique way of telling stories that only you can offer.

Maybe this is the opportunity you need to take the first step, to begin building the path you’ve been dreaming of in silence.
