Directed by ECPV alumnus Mario González Riquelme
The International Festival of Documentary and Short Film of Bilbao, ZINEBI, hosted yesterday at 5:00 p.m. the premiere of “Una tarde cualquiera” within the Bertoko section, which is dedicated to local talent. The short film, directed by Mario González Riquelme (@magoriq), a former student of the Basque Country Film School (ECPV), arrives on screen as a testament to the professional growth of a creator who continues to take confident steps within the film industry.
The screening represents a milestone both for Mario himself and for the ECPV, which also appears as the producer of the project. With this premiere, the School reinforces its commitment to real audiovisual creation, supporting its students and alumni in their early professional journeys and in their presence at prestigious festivals such as ZINEBI.
“Una tarde cualquiera” is presented as an intimate, emotional, and carefully crafted story, where narrative sensitivity and visual precision stand out. The short film reflects the enormous potential that emerges from the ECPV classrooms—an emerging talent beginning to claim its place in the festivals that matter in today’s film landscape.
✨ Congratulations, Mario. The best is yet to come.
