ECPV awarded time a mentorship prize

The Talent Hub successfully held its third edition last Friday at the Álava Technology Park, establishing itself as a key event for the Basque audiovisual sector. The initiative, promoted by Zineuskadi, aimed to highlight emerging talent in the industry and featured notable participants such as Mar Izquierdo, coordinator of Zineuskadi, and Ione Feijoo, head of marketing, communication and international development of the Basque.Audiovisual brand.
Known as the Talent Hub, the event served as a meeting point between production companies seeking new voices and young talents taking their first steps in the industry. Through pitching sessions, creators shared the projects they are currently developing, presenting their ideas to industry professionals. Throughout the day, 14 selected teams showcased their proposals before a specialized jury and a live audience, fostering collaboration and the growth of new narratives in the Basque audiovisual scene.

Strong presence from ECPV
The Basque Country Film School (ECPV) had a strong presence at the event, presenting three projects led by students and alumni: one directed by Iban Bustinduy, another by Iker González Urresti, and a third co-directed by Mario González-Rikelme and Ibai Aristedi. In total, ECPV presented two short films and one feature film. The latter, directed by Iker González Urresti, received an award that will allow its participation in the prestigious DAFILM festival.
These creators have been part of ECPV’s training programs, including the screenwriting courses and the production master’s program, where they began to develop their voice and vision as filmmakers.
HIGH receives a mentorship award from ECPV
In addition, ECPV awarded for the first time a mentorship prize to a feature film project. The award went to High, a story centered on one of Bilbao's most iconic nightlife venues, known for its inclusive atmosphere and connection to the LGTBI+ community. The prize offers the team professional guidance during the development process of the film.
The event highlighted the vibrant creative energy of young talent in the Basque Country and the importance of creating spaces for new audiovisual voices with international projection.
