Are you passionate about cinema and dream of making films?
This coming July, the Basque Country Film School (ECPV) is launching a unique program for those who want to take their first steps in the world of cinema.
Thanks to the support of the Next Generation funds and the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan, and in collaboration with OFF ESCAC, the new Introductory Workshop to Filmmaking is here, a free, intensive training program aimed at discovering and developing new cinematic voices.
A Space to Explore Your Creativity
Throughout the workshop, critical reading of texts written by filmmakers will be encouraged, audiovisual materials will be analyzed, and collaborative work will be fostered around scripts, scenes, and editing.
The program seeks not only to introduce students to the directing process but also to connect their personal concerns with diverse narrative and cultural traditions of cinema. An approach that opens the door to both directing and other creative roles within the audiovisual world.
What will you learn?
This workshop is more than a simple introduction: it is a theoretical and practical immersion in the art of storytelling through film. Over three units, participants will explore:
The different stages of film production
The narrative keys of classic and modern cinema
Decisions regarding staging, editing, directing, and production
In addition, at the end of the course, each student will be able to participate in three free, personalized tutorials to advance in the creation of a personal or collective short film.
Who is it for?
For people over 16 years of age, both EU citizens and non-EU residents in Spain. No prior knowledge is required, just an interest and motivation for film and audiovisual creation.

In-person at the Basque Country Film School in Bilbao
