El programa
Throughout the programme, you will work on the foundations of screenwriting, learning essential concepts such as narrative structure, character development, and dialogue writing. Through theory, film analysis, and practical exercises, you will gain the tools needed to shape strong stories, develop your perspective as a writer, and begin to find your own voice.
El contexto
Training at ECPV means learning in a welcoming, dynamic environment closely connected to audiovisual creation. You will share the learning process with teachers and fellow students with whom you can exchange ideas, write, and grow within a school that understands cinema through writing as well. Target audience
The script initiation workshop is focused on those people who want to lay the foundations of cinematographic writing known throughout the world as a script.
Who you'll become
The course guarantees students a broad knowledge of the art of the script. Through the analysis of films, and the writing of a wide range of practices (from more literary exercises to short film scripts), students will know how to identify and put into practice the basic elements to write their story. At the end of the course, students will have written at least one professional short film script, which they can move for later production. Likewise, they will have acquired enough knowledge to prolong their career as a screenwriter, in order to write more short films, and at some point face the writing of a feature film. If their interest grows and they develop their full potential, from this course the students will be able to open up to a career as a screenwriter for cinema, television, comics or videogames, novelists, etc.
Our way of teaching
It is part of the goal that each student learns the trade and is prepared to perform any position within their department. Students receive continuous practical classes taught by professionals in the sector. The students also receive a theoretical knowledge about the script and the situation of the sector.
Study plan
The objective of the course is to provide students with tools to know how to write a script, with an approach in a writing workshop format. It is aimed at anyone with an interest in cinema and writing in all its aspects: comics, videogames, documentaries, role-playing games, etc. The student will obtain the basic resources to know how to write a script, from the most basic idea to the final result in a professional format.
