The audiovisual sector in Bilbao Bizkaia experiences significant growth in the last decade.
On Tuesday, February 17th, the 2024 activity report for Bilbao Bizkaia Film Commission was presented in Bilbao, highlighting a very positive year.
The ECPV attended the presentation, where both David Pedrosa and Diego Kataryniuk were present.
Kontxi Claver, Councillor for Economic Development, Trade, Tourism, and Employment of the Bilbao City Council, and Ainara Basurko, Provincial Deputy for the Department of Economic Promotion of Bizkaia, were responsible for presenting the report.

- Job Growth: Employment in the audiovisual sector has grown by 50.5% in the last ten years, surpassing the total employment growth in Bizkaia, which was 15.4% in the same period.
- Increase in Companies: The number of companies related to the audiovisual sector has increased by 57.7% in the last decade, reaching a record of 448 companies in 2024.
- Increase in Productions: The number of audiovisual productions supported by Bilbao Bizkaia Film Commission increased by 11% in 2024, with a significant rise in feature films (133%) and series (57%).
