The film school collaborates with the San Sebastian International Film Festival in the new edition of Audi Future Stories.
This past Friday, September 27, the IV edition of Audi Future Stories took place within the framework of the San Sebastian Festival activities, where “Huir”, the winning short film of that edition, was premiered.
The premiere was held in the Sala Príncipe and its screening welcomed members of the team and its cast of actors, Álvaro Cervantes and Elena Rivera, and even some well-known faces such as Paco León and Miguel Ángel Muñoz. But if it is worth highlighting a protagonist, it would be Alejandro Pereira Soto, from the TAI University School of Arts in Madrid, winner of the contest for his surprising script. In Pereira's words, “For me it is a gift, a wonderful experience. It is the first time I have seen one of my works on a big screen.”
The filming of the production took place in Barcelona for three days in July, and the theme addresses the passage of time and the accelerated pace of society, as well as the desire to escape from life, all under the umbrella of the fantasy and thriller genres. For the filming, Pereira relied on the extensive experience of director Kike Maíllo (Eva, Toro) as co-director not only on the set but also in pre-production, helping him bring to life the script that Alejandro himself had developed.
After the screening of the short film, Alejandro Pereira Soto, Kike Maíllo, Álvaro Cervantes, Elena Rivera, José Miguel Aparicio, general manager of Audi, and the director and member of the selection jury María Ripoll held a discussion with the participation of the public. During the discussion, Miguel Aparicio gave a very positive assessment of the initiative, so next year it will be held again with the premise of “Although Audi is a serious brand, we want to make a comedy.”
